I recently sold a vehicle to Carvana and they asked me to write a review about the experience. Even though I know that they would not like the review, I did take the time to write and submit it – but it was not accepted …. so I decided to post about it here, so that Carvana can see that they have some very real problems to fix before their vending machines for cars are an acceptable business.
As I wrote in my review, the pickup day experience was quick and easy – but the buying process and online technology needs A LOT of work. Apparently their review process needs some help as well, as their platform would not accept my review due to my “ad blocker” (which I had made sure to turn off).
Here is the text portion of my Carvana review:
I was contacted by a 3rd party, Car Wizer, which gathered offers and said Carvana was the best offer. I tried to accept offer, but there was a technology problem with Carvana which would not let me login to my account to complete the process of uploading required documents. Lost password function did not work, the text bots or ‘people’ trying to help me online could not and would not for several frustrating days. Did not know if the sale was going to go through – in fact, Carvana tried to reduce and shorten the length of their offer.

Eventually, the people at Car Wizer were able to upload my documents and I was able to set appointment for Carvana to pick up the car.
Appointment day went smooth and everything was good, although I still have not received notice from my credit union (lienholder) that they’ve been paid off.
I don’t think I could recommend Carvana to anyone who can sell their vehicle another way – until they fix their technology and online ‘help’. Very, very frustrating, causing a few sleepless nights.
That said, I am thankful for Micah at Car Wizer who worked very hard to make sure that the deal went through.
